What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root consisting of a titanium screw that resembles a tooth root.
Missing teeth can be replaced with this high-tech technique and will look and function like real teeth. Dental implants can replace one or several missing teeth and offer a sound alternative to dentures and bridges.
For the placement of a dental implant a surgical procedure** has to be performed using local anesthetic, identical to what is used for fillings or tooth removal.
A dental implant needs in average a healing time of 3 to 5 months depending on each individual case. After the healing time a crown or bridge with porcelain teeth can be inserted.
Implants in the front area can be often mounted the same day (immediate loading).
